AVALON OF THE HEART — By Violet M. Firth (Dion Fortune) — 1st Edition / 1st Printing, 1934 —Metaphysical, Occult, Paganism, England
Publisher: Frederick Muller Ltd., London (1934)
First edition from 1934, in well preserved condition. The boards and binding are solid and tight save for minimal shelfwear and light fading to the spine. The pages are crisp and clean save for ex-libris label on the first blank page. (Note: the label appears to be that of English classical conductor and composer, Ellen Coleman.) Dion's AVALON OF THE HEART is a description of Glastonbury that remains one of the most evocative and poignant accounts of this wild yet holy place; a power center polarizing with distant Jerusalem and linking and harmonizing the Christian way with the primeval and pagan past of England.
